Today, after a long time, I got to read a small part of the blog of a fellow gay bdsm illustration artist, Mitchell (Mitchmen). There I came across an analysis of some of my older works as part of his series on BDSM creators. I'm grateful to him for this mention of me, and reading his analytical description of my drawings was very interesting for myself. If you are interested in that description, you can find it here.In general, I recommend Mitchell's blog for exploration and thank him again for the time and thoughts he gave to my drawings at the time!
Last night I logged onto FaceBook and I started chatting with another Dominant who also has a blog on wordpress. Franco Bolli. We were talking about the Holidays and he brought this subject up to me, he said.
A professional dominatrix or professional dominant, often referred to within the culture as a pro-dom(me), offers services encompassing the range of bondage, discipline, and dominance in exchange for money. The term dominatrix is little-used within the non-professional BDSM scene. A non-professional dominant woman is more commonly referred to simply as a domme, dominant, or femdom (short for female dominance). Professional submissives ("pro-subs"), although far more rare, do exist. A professional submissive consents to their client's dominant behavior within negotiated limits, and often works within a professional dungeon. Most of the people who work as subs normally have tendencies towards such activities, especially when sadomasochism is involved. Males also work as professional "tops" in BDSM, and are called masters or doms. However, it is much rarer to find a male in this profession.
All of a sudden you had these self proclaimed masters started to pop out everywhere. As the image of BDSM and Domination and submission became diffused, everyone wanted to be a part of it, and while in the Old Days you had to walk into the scene and EARN that status, now all you needed was a camera, a few hot pictures emulating some porn, an internet connection, and being a top.
Writing blogs and articles for your blog or a website you have made specifically for them is a way for them to let the world know how they are doing. This is also a great way for the Dominant to check on the slave. Make sure he adds pictures and proof of every task and assignment. Ensure BDSM instruction is carried out every time.
